Hi,
I have some non-Cisco physical servers. Wonder if they support the FEX-adapter technology, I'd like to understand if it's possible to have some redundancy or even channeling.
I mean there is just a link between the FEX and the server, and it can handle multiple subnet trafics, with the vNIC and the VN-TAG.
But what if I want to have two of those links, each having the 2 same subnet trafic to forward (so the 2 same VN-TAG on each link)? Is it possible (with a dual-port 10 GE FEX-adapter for example)? Can I group them in a port-channel, or they just can work in active/standby mode?
My wish is to provide redundancy for the servers with the FEX-adapter.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Check with the server vendor. If the servers support LACP, you can run it between the servers and the FEX. You can bundle up to 8 links.

Thank you for the reply.
So a FEX-adapter can support up to 8 physical links ?
