We have a laptop connected to a 2248 FEX. I know it is not standard but at least there should be some activity on the port, however it is still down.
The port is in spanning-tree port type edge auto/auto and obviously the FEX is online. The laptop supports 1G. What do I do wrong that the port won't come up?

Are you plugging into a 10G interface on the FEX? You can attempt to set the port speed to 100/1000MB and see if the link comes up. You can also try to default the interface config, but I would at least expect a link light on the laptop.
Can you post the running config from the FEX host interface?

Hi Wesley
The issue was the FEX is dual homed which I didn't realize and I configured the vlan on FEX port only from one N5K and not from the other, then the port came up.
