Hi All,
I'm wondering if there is anyone can explain how N1Kv VSM communicate with VEM module using separate l3 interfaces on both of them, the main concern how the VSM know the IP of the l3 vmkernel interface of the VEM to communicate with it?

Yes, correct
VSM-VEM communication is between VSM mgmt0 to VEM vmkernel interface that is attached to a vethernet port profile with L3 capability. VLAN on that port group must be a system VLAN and allowed on an Ethernet port profile where it is also set as a system VLAN

Review the Cisco Nexus 1000V for "VMware vSphere System Management Configuration Guide" for your respective Nexus 1000v version
The section "Configuring the Domain" covers information about VSM-VEM communication
Link to the guides can be found here: Configuration Guides for Nexus 1000v for VMware vSphere

Hi Clifford,
Thanks for your support, but i think VSM will know the IP of the VEM when we attaching the L3 vmkernel interface to the portgroup that configured with l3 capability.
