Nexus 1000v

Hello,

I'd like to ask what I thought would be a fairly simple question but as yet I've been unable to find the answer.

I'm looking at building a VMware system and need to test 802.1x amongst other things.  I saw the Nexus 1000v and thought that this might fit the bill but I'm not sure if it's 802.1x capable.

Can anyone tell me, does the Nexus 1000v do 802.1x?

Hi

I don't believe so - basically you configure port profiles which are then assigned to VMs via the usual VMWare management tools. The profile follows the server and contains security (and other) settings, but it doesn't use 802.1x to assign these.

There's no mention of 802.1x in the manuals; I'd take that at face value :-).
