Hello,
On the Cisco Configuration Tool, the N5K has a license named N55-8SP-SSK9. The description is Nexus 5500 Storage License, 8 Ports. We think this is related to the number of FC Ports on the N5K. Is this license somehow related to FCoE port on the N5K? Most probably to run FCoE, we don't need any license. Also we could not find information on if this is only for physical port count, or we should pay attention for Vsans, or ISL links as well,
Thanks in Advance,
Best Regards,

you need storage protocol license to enable FCoE.And yes you are correct, it will enable any 8 ports for FCoE. So to enable FCoE for entire chassis, you can go upto 8 licenses. Have you checked our 5548 data sheet at
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps9441/ps9670/qa_c67-618605.pdf
Hope this helps, V.

As I know only the license for the first 8 Storage-Ports (FC or FCoE) are enforced, licenses for more Storage-Ports are honour-based. So I know no wa when lookin gon a 5K5 to have a clou how many Storage Licenses customer buyed if he bought 8. Is there a way to find out this ?
Thx
