Nexus N5k and N2K

Hi Team,

For Data center ,  i am using a 1x pairs of N5k and 2x paris of N2k for supporting servers connectivity.

Then for the DR site,  which the number of servers will be greatly reduce and I do not required 1 pairs of N5k and 2x pairs of N2K.

Meaning I will need 1x unit of N5k and 1x unit of N2k........ (  becos of 10G BaseT  from servers connection ).

Does that make sense to use Nexus switches N5k and n2k  for DR site or should I go with  Catalyst 3850 ???

Thanks In advance.

I would probably stick with Nexus platform, for consistency sake.

You also have other features available in NXOS (i.e. 5600 series) such as VXLAN, fabric path, Fiber Channel/FC/FCOE storage, etc.

I think the 5596T model has 10GbaseT transceivers built in, so you might be able leave the N2K out of the DR site.

I agree with kirk's statement. Nexus is pretty consistent and reliable box and more over you can replicate exact config on the DR site too.

-Thanks
