Hi All,

I have some issue with DLSW.

DLSW is set up at 6509 MSFC and have multiple VLANs

Each VLANs have bridge cross to DLSW.

eq.

dlsw local-peer peer-id 10.2.248.4

dlsw remote-peer o tcp 10.2.0.111

dlsw bridge-group1

dlsw bridge-group2

dlsw bridge-group3

:

:

dlsw bridge-group20

interface vlan 700

bridge-group 1

interface vlan 701

bridge-group 2

:

:

interface vlan 720

bridge-group 20

The dlsw peer is connected and I can see about 10 dlsw circuit are stablely connected . But the issue is that rest of DLSW circuits are connected and drops out after about 10 second later and connects again - and drop out -- repeatedly.

I don't understand why only some of them are stable and some are not

Please any feed back would be greatly helpful.

Regards,

David Ham

What is the IOS version? There is a recent bug in LLC2 may cause the issue. It is CSCea22898. The bug is introduced in 12.2(10b) and is fixed in 12.2(17).

If you do not hit by the bug, please provide show dlsw circuit history detail on both dlsw peer.

Thanks for your reply.

The IOS version on MSFC is currently

IOS (tm) MSFC2 Software (C6MSFC2-JSV-M), Version 12.1(11b)E4, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

I had a look the MSFC2 IOS and next available version is 12.1(13)E2

Regard,

David Ham

I doubt that the fix is integrated into 12.1(13)E2. Please open a TAC case and ask the TAC engineer to give you the latest interim release.

This may be unrelated but DLSW is not recommended on MFSCs.

Trying using an external router with a trunking FastE interface for all the VLANs. Also, why do you need so many bridge-groups?
