UCS B and Spine Leaf Question

I am a bit confused and need some clarity.

In a leaf spine topo you want each leaf connnecting to each spine and not to each other.

If i have 1 rack with a pair of 93xx series switches (2 for redundancy), or any other switches for that matter, is that one leaf or two? I assume it is 2 and you want each then to be wired back to the spine. NO connectivity between the 2 switches.

IN reviewing this graphic they have 4 spines adn only 4 connections to the spines despite having 2 93xx switches per rack.

Does that mean you are supposed to somehow make the 2 switches look like 1 switch to the upstream spines or did they omit the addtional connections from the second 93xx for simplicity sake and there are really 4 per 93xx?

You care correct, each leaf is connected to each spine via a single connection. Each leaf can be connected to one another via a vPC (virtual port-channel). You are correct there is no physical connection between the Leafs but you can still configure a vPC.
