Hello everybody,
When you have two SUP720 in a 6500 chassis, Cisco documentation states that the standby supervisor does not forward any traffic. This means that the uplink ports on the redundant supervisor are not active. Nevertheless, some people told me that this is not true, and they have 6500 switches where the uplink ports on BOTH SUP720 are active.
Could anyone please help to clarify this issue? Are the ports on the standby SUP active or not?
Thanks

Only one SUP is active at a time. Supervisor engine redundancy does not provide supervisor load-balancing. However, the interfaces on a standby supervisor engine are active and can be used to forward traffic.
Thanks
Plz. rate if it does!
