Hi Everyone,
I am trying to configure FCOE between FI and Nexus 5K so that my server can boot from SAN
This is the topology:
UCS FI ----FCOE----- > Nk5----FC------ > Netapp
On the FIA I have configured the VSAN 510 and on FIB I have configured is as VSAN 511:
When I associate a service profile I get the following error in the faults page of the Server:
I noticed this error
fc VIF 764 on server 1 / 1 of switch A down, reason: NPV upstream port not available
and
fc VIF 764 on server 1 / 1 of switch A down, reason: NPV upstream port not available
I checked the fcoe uplink Config and noticed a fault which I am not able to fix
I checked the Config on my nexus 5k switch and the vsan on the FCOE port was showing initializing
Nexus5k-01# show interface vfc 31
vfc31 is trunking
Bound interface is Ethernet1/31
Hardware is Ethernet
Port WWN is 20:1e:8c:60:4f:7a:0a:bf
Admin port mode is F, trunk mode is on
snmp link state traps are enabled
Port mode is TF
Port vsan is 510
Trunk vsans (admin allowed and active) (510)
Trunk vsans (up) ()
Trunk vsans (isolated) ()
Trunk vsans (initializing) (510)
1 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 bytes/sec, 0 frames/sec
1 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 bytes/sec, 0 frames/sec
0 frames input, 0 bytes
0 discards, 0 errors
0 frames output, 0 bytes
0 discards, 0 errors
Can anyone help me fixing this issue?
Some Configuration information:
Nexus5k-01# show vsan membership
vsan 510 interfaces:
fc1/43 fc1/47 fc1/48 vfc31
vfc32
fc1/43 not used but will be connected to VNX
fc1/47 and 48 is connected to Netapp
vfc31 and 32 is connected to FI
I can see the FLOGI for the FC ports but not for the FCOE port.

There is no available link (FCoE) between UCS FI and N5k ?
Are the FCoE interfaces on the FI in the proper VSAN ?
