The following are basic examples of XML code for different basic functions, applicable to the SPA500 series IP Phones:

XML files for each example are located in the attachment zone.

For the XML Directory, I did exactly what you said but I still get unvalid request (I get unvalid URL if I use tftp).

SO I have SPA504G latest firmware 7.5.5

I use http://myip/directory/xml

So many possible issues. Turn on syslog&debug and catch them. Catch the HTTP request and response as well. It should help us to analyze the issue.

But don't continue here with it. Create new thread in XML Phone Applications community
