My SG20-50P Switch Log appears as follows with Random ports going up and down. I am trying to find out if this links to another problem I'm having with a Client Server software locking up on the client end. The hardware, thin clients and desktops, are working and have checked all sleep and power settings. All items in working order, now I'm wondering about the switch
PLEASE help...
Thank You
John

Hi John, can you give more details as to what is connecting to the switch?
I may recommend that you manually set the port negotiation to 100 full duplex to see if that helps things out.

Thanks Tom for the suggestion witll try to change port negotiations to see if a change. The devices connected and this problem is happening to are Wyse Teminals (gigabit), HP, Printer (gigabit), Toshiba Phones (gigabit) and Dell CPU's (Windows 7) gigabit. This happens at random to anything on the network...

Hi,
After upgrading firmware, you need to reconfigure the switch?

I had a similar looking trouble on an SG500 in a stack. One switch in the stack would start doing this and the IP Phones and workstations would lose connection. Turning off green ethernet appeared to correct it for a while, but then it continued. I ended up replacing the switch and had no further trouble.

Hey Brandon. I am having the same problem that has been described above. However I have 4 of these switches in a stack. How would I know which switch is the bad one? I am getting drops like this on all of them. Thanks
Note: My switches are the SG500-52P

As I recall it was obvious to me one switch of a stack of 2 or three based on logs and which devices were affected. If it is happening to all switches then it may be a different issue or multiple bad switches.
Don't hesitate to call Cisco SBCS support to get it resolved.
