Transport Gatway 4.1.1 root account

Hi experts,

Is the 'root' account for SCH TG removed in the 4.1.1 ova version?

It seems the 'tguser' account is only usable on this version but it doesn't have a permission to change ip address configuration or rebooting TG VM.

Can you please look into it?

Thanks,

Ron Lee

Hi Ron,

Engineering guys suggested that there may be no need to reach out to TAC. Alternately , you can try the commands using "sudo" prefix ... let us know if that works for you.

Thanks for pointing out the correction in the document, the team is working on it to fix it.

Thanks,

Diptish.

Hi Ron,

You are right.

With TG 4.1.1 OVA version, we have removed "root" account and introduced "tguser". As it's a non-root account, it can't be used to configure the IP address. In this case they have to reach to our support team. Same has been mentioned in the updated SCH user guide in the TG chapter.

Thanks,

Diptish.

Hi Diptish,

Thank you for your confirmation. BTW can you please let me know the reason that the 'root' account has been removed? Since previous version of TG VMs supported it and TAC case opening whenever IP address changing required should be time consuming job, I want to know the clear reason.

Also the document should be corrected since there is mention on page 83 in 'Smart Call Home' guide you shared about use 'reboot' command after log in with 'tguser' account, but it cannot because the account don't have the permission to execute that command...

Thanks,

Ron
