call home is device diagnostic feature, when enabled on the device it can deliver alert messages containing information on configuration, diagnostics, environmental conditions, inventory, and syslog events. It also includes automated TAC SR creation depending on the severity of the alert message. These messages are delivered to cisco via a secure channel.
There is no known impact on the CPU if this feature is enabled.
