Hi Wanted to check why CSPC collector is performing reverse-dns lookups for managed/discovered devices?

Hello
Thanks for contacting CISCO.
Reverse DNS lookups are performed by the CSPC to validate the network configuration of the managed/discovered devices. That refers to the process of verifying that the network devices are configured correctly and are functioning as expected. This process is important for ensuring that the devices are secure, reliable and efficient.
Let me know if this information is clear, or if you have additional questions
Regards,
Ivonne

CSPC performs reverse- DNS looups to map IP addresses to hostnames, which helps in identifying the devices and their associated network elements. This information is used to collect specific data from the devices, which is then uploaded to the Portal.
I hope this helps!
