Unable to Change to Static IP Address

I need to move our collector to a new VLAN and give it a static address. When I enter the command:

conf ip eth0 172.27.8.220 255.255.255.0 172.27.80.254

I get a message saying IP was configured successfully.

When I show IP it shows eth0 is up

DHCP is disabled

It lists our two DNS servers

The Gateway is empty.

The collector is not now on the network. Not sure what else to do at this point.

Thanks,

Ken Howser

Hi Ken,

Did you reboot after changing the IP address?

If you have the "collectorlogin" created, SSH in using that and then run "ifconfig" to see what is displayed there.

Thanks,

Lynden

I do. I see the following in the attachment.

Can you ping the IP address 172.27.8.220? Could be an IP conflict.

I cannot and nslookup shows nothing associated to that IP address. Let me find and try another address.
