I am using two MDS9134 Switches and I am trying to send 4G FC traffic from JDSU tester to bothe the Swiches.
This creates E-Port between the swithces and Fport where the ports are connected to the JDSU tester ports.
For all Link is up and the ports coem up correctly as E port and F ports.
When I send traffic from the tester, spmehow. traffci does not get generated.
Do I need to configure these Switches with Zone sets.

Hi,
Yes, It sounds like you need to put the JDSU pwwns in a zone, the zone in a zoneset and activate the zoneset.
Make sure the JDSU ports are in the same VSAN and the ISL is trunking that VSAN.

Thanks David for your prompt reply.
It still does not work. Now I can send traffic from only one Switch.
Do I have to assign different VSANs for the two switches?
Currently, I have assigned both Switches the same VSAN 1 for Zoneset and I can only activate one of the Zones at a time.
I also tried re-naming zone set for the second switch, but kept the same VSAN 1 but only one zoneset of the switch is active at a time (is it due to same VSAN?)
Thanks

Hi Pravin,
Topology:
JDSU - MDS1 - MDS2 - JDSU
All JDSU F_ports and MDS E_ports should be in the same VSAN (or the E_ports should be trunking the same VSAN as the F_Ports).
The E_ports should not be isoloated or segmented.
show zoneset active vsan x on both switches should be the exact same.
There should be an * next to the JDSU pwwns and the JDSU pwwns should be in the same zone in the output of
show zoneset active vsan x
You may have to open an SR on this one.

Thanks a lot David for detailed explanation.
I just made it work by assigning different VSANs and different Zonesets for the two switches.
Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the feedback Pravin.
You might have a different topology than I drew.

Actually I have the same topology as you drew, but between the two MDS switches, I have our own DUT.
Now I will try MDS9222i Switches and hopefully it will work.
Thanks
