What is the difference between internal and external power supply in the specifications for these switches??

I'm looking at 8-port and 16-port PoE switches, these models, the only difference I can see is internal vs. external power supply, how do I decide which one to buy, internal or external power supply??

CBS350-8P-2G

CBS350-8P-E-2G

CBS350-16P-2G
CBS350-16P-E-2G

Thank you, Tom

Q.  Why internal and external power supply options?
A.  All 24- and 48-port models of Cisco Business switches come with internal power supply because these devices are normally rack mounted and connect directly to AC power outlets. Eight- and 16-port models come with both internal and external power supply options. The external power supply models have smaller enclosure sizes so they can better fit into small spaces like on the desk, in the meeting room, or in the classroom. The internal power supply models have slightly larger enclosure size but provide the benefit of easier connection to AC power outlets.
All internal and external power supplies come with the switch so there is no need to purchase the power supply separately.

the external power supply versions are slightly cheaper than the internal PSU versions.  The internal PSU versions are nicer to rack mount as there is no seperate PSU to mount.  The 8-port with internal PSU has a heatsink on the back that isn't there on the external PSU one.

There are very minor differences between POE budgets between the two.  I have one each of the 8-ports, my main switch being internal PSU and my test switch the external.  Generally I would go for internal PSU version where you can.  The external PSU opens up some options for different DC powering options if that speaks to you (54 volt DC PSU)
