8 port or 16 port switch

I am using 8 port and 16 port switches in my organization. Is there any way to block the ports since there is no IOS that comes in these switches?

The switch is placed openly and i wanted to block the port.

If it's a Cisco/Linksys SRW or SLM series switch, then you can disable the ports from the web management GUI.

What's the exact type of your switch?

The SD216 is an unmanaged switch, so there's no way to block the ports from

software.

What you could possibly do:

• block the ports physically: stuff something in the unused ports, like vax or something. This will void your warranty, though.
• if you have a managed switch between this SD216 and the rest of the network, assign static MAC addresses on that switch and disable dynamic learning.
