Add new SG500 switch to existing stack

Hi all,

I've some doubts and I want to be sure before operate.

My stack is composed of 3 switch (Chain - L3 - Native Stacking - auto unit id)

2x SG500-28-K9 V02 - FW 1.4.11.5

1x SG500-52-K9 V02 - FW 1.4.11.5

I want to insert a new member (SG500-28-K9 V02 - FW 1.4.11.5) in the middle of this chain.

Questions are:

  1. Do I need to configure new switch (with L3 - Native Stacking settings - stack port assignment - unit id)  before adding to the chain or should it be at factory default state?
  2. Does the stack reset and reconfigure itself as soon as I open the chain or do I need to make manual configurations for adding new member in stack?
  3. Does original configuration will be lost adding new member in stack?

Thanks for you help

Best regards

AV

You need basic config on the new switch and same version of code  then follow below document :
