CBS350 Firmware Upload failing

I have https firmware uploads failing on multiple switches at different clients.  The logs show a generic "the copy operation failed".  Two of the switches:
CBS350-24p-4G | firmware v3.2.0.84

CBS350-24p-4x | firmware v3.3.0.16

An upload of the same firmware file v3.5.0.26 upload works successfully using ssh and tftp.

I have tried:

  • Confirming the hash and re-downloading the firmware.
  • Different browsers.
  • 3 different firmware versions:
    • 3.3.0.16
    • 3.4.0.17
    • 3.5.0.26
  • Moving the downloaded file to a local, non-redirected, not OneDrive, path.
  • Disabling http so login and upload are definitely via https.

I would appreciate any ideas, upgrading via tftp will be much more time intensive vs https.

Thank you.

  - Check access and error logs on (from) the remote web server, look for success on transfer of the intended files (firmware) or not (e.g.)

Hmm, this is an https upload via browser that is failing, there is no remote web server, not sure what you are referring to?

- If there is an upload through http/https  then by definition it must come from a remote webserver, but I forgot that this may be from Cisco directly, I noticed below that you can also upload through  a local file. Does that work ?
Meaning downloading the firmware first in that case.

Steps taken:

  • Logon to local workstation on same network as CBS350 switch.
  • Download firmware from Cisco.com to local workstation.
    • Download is from remote webserver, this is successful.
    • Confirm file hash matches.
    • Login to Cisco CBS350 via https
      • Upload firmware file from local workstation via https to CBS350.
      • Upload fails with a generic error.

  • Login to same CBS350 via ssh from same workstation.
    • Upload same firmware file via tftp.
    • this is successful
