Good morning everyone,
The company I work for is looking to upgrade its network architecture. Currently they're running their whole net off of unmanaged switches; and through some back room deals I managed to score a Cisco 2950 switch from a partner company who was throwing it out.
Sadly, I have no way to interface with this switch. Is there a CLI file I can download somewhere?
As well I know with the 2960 series you can interface with the CLI through a management ethernet port; is that the same with the 50 series, our is the only way to configure it though the console port?
Thank you much!

Hi
you cannot as far as i remember access the 2950 by GUI only by cli , you will need a console cable and putty to connect to it , if you only have a laptop you will probably need an adapter for your console cabe as well from a pc you can directly connect to the switch
There will already be an image on it but if it was already in use you may need to factory reset the device as it could be password protected
how to do a password recovery and how to console in

mgmt ports need to be setup 1st from cli but from what remember i dont think 2950s have physical mgmt ports
