Hai ,

Cisco Catalyst 2960 series switch showing " Press Return to get started " when connect using Teraterm . using this message not possible to enter in switch settings .How to solve this issue or skip from this message . Error message has been uploaded . please refer it

Hi,

Your vlan1 is shutdown.

How are you connectd to the switch? Are you trying to connect from console interface, management port?

It is your first connection to it?

Do you know the configuration on your switch?

Just press Enter at the message " Press Return to get started "....

using console port i connected the switch . i tried to press Enter key but it not responding . not the first connection of the switch . i reset the older configuration using by holding the ' Mode' button . But still it showing the same message .

You probably configure a wrong path to img switch file.

There are differant reset mode:

hold mode button 3 sec reset switch, start on start-up configuration

hold mode buton about 10 sec, it will restart from factory config. Use this !

i think the path is different .

OK  sorry for my img file path it is for 2960-x but yours lookslike good.

I have an other one a 2960 path who working. It is an hold one.

may be try cmd "boot".

If the factory reset did'nt work it is out of my competence.

Normaly with your prompt style you are in normal prompt.

Use cmd "en" to enter in admin mode. The prompt will change in #switch, use "show run" to see the actual configuration and "copy run start" to save this first configuration the start-up config. Confirm the action with "y".

Then you can modify the configuration with the pannel of classical cmd.

i tried all the methods u mentioned . but the actual problem is can not enter in to user mode ..

In the below mentioned link . up to step -1  it is ok . but from step -2 onwards it's not working . Not possible in enter in " Switch : flash_init " mode .No manual entries or any other keyboard inputs are not accepting

Switch is not accepting any entries from keyboard .  then how i upgrade the ios ? how i enter the path of the ios file and other things ?
