Cisco SG300 MIB files errors

Hi ,

I've all Cisco SG300 switches in my network. I am building a monitoring system and I am trying to monitor these switches. I have downloaded the mib files from the cisco website. I am testing these files with different Network Monitoring products and also with some mib browsers. Unfortunately, the switches are not responding to the snmp requests. Has anyone ever used thse mib files for monitoring purposes? Any insight into this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Vishal

The MIB files work exceptionally well with MG-SOFT.

Here is a post I compiled all of the object names on a text document for the 500 series and then the 300 series a bit further down.

Hi Tom,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have tested the MIB files with OpManager, Aggregate and also with IReasoning MIB browser. Can't get much data from the Switches using the MIBs.SNMP walk does return data if I use an initial oid of 1.3.6.1.4.1.9 but I can't make much sense of all the data without any definition for those oids. I wonder if I am using the correct MIB files. I actually downloaded the MIB files for Cisco SG300 v1.1.2 from the Cisco MIB locator. I will try to use MG soft and see if that makes any difference. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks again.

Vishal

Hi Tom,

Couldn't test with MGSoft. It doesn't snmpv2 in its evaluation version. I am not going to buy the Licensed version just because of this. Anyway, do you mind if I ask you what is the source from where you got the MIB files for the Cisco SG300?

Thank you.

Regards,

Vishal

From the switch itself.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your reply. Hmm, I checked the product documentation CDs for the switch and couldn't find anything. Instead, it directed me towards the Cisco website for download. What did you mean you got the MIB files from the switch itself?

Thank you,

Vishal

I extracted all of the object names from the switch itself. All of those object names, the switch should support.

Is there any update for this? Please let me know the exact OID(s) you're trying to use.
