Connecting an SF302-08P and an SF500-24P via Uplink port

I am using a CAT-5E cable to the GE port on each switch, Port 9 and Port 25 respectively.  I am using a standard Ethernet cable.  When I do this I can't see any of the devices on the other switch.  If I just connect one of the other ports on both switches I can see all of the devices on both switches.  Am I doing something wrong or is there something that needs to be done to make the traffic go across the uplink port?

Hi,
My name is Iliya Gatsev from Cisco Technical Support Team.

I suppose that on your configuration every port is member on different VLAN, but I think it would be best if you could call our support line and open a support ticket, so we can do a WebEx remote session and check the configuration.

It turns out that those two ports were setup as stacking ports and my
assumption is that you can't stack ports between an SF500 and an SF300.
Once I turned stacking off the ports seem to be working fine.

Hi,

Yes, stack between SF500 and an SF300 switches will be not possible.

Is there a benefit in using the uplink ports between the SF-302 and the GE1
port on the SF500?
