How to copy configuration of one switch to another?

Hi Networkers,

Most the time I have to copy configuration from one switch to another. Sometimes the switch will be a rental, or a defective one. I am tired of copying the configuration from backup files into the terminal of the new switch, because most of the lines are not required, like username password, some punctuations, and RSA algorithm etc. Is there any easy way or tool which converts switch backups to configurable files, so that that I can just upload it in the new switch?

Appreciate a practical solution !

most places using copy and paste for this requirement. but cisco have more advanced solutions like cisco DNA to reduce operational overhead. you can check them.

why not setup a TFTP Server and put some basic global config there as basic template and import from TFTP ? is that not works ?

@Kasun Bandara - personally for this task DNAC is white elphant to manage. (sure this adds value if the infrastructure has 1000 of devices and all are compatable with DNAC)
