ping failures on CBS250-24PP-4G-EU and CBS250-8PP-2G-EU

I have some CBS250-24PP-4G-EU Switches (12 pcs.) and some CBS250-8PP-2G-EU Switches (6 pcs.)

I get lost pings on each of the devices on some ports, at random times. I checked it with different ping tools for some weeks.

Now I changed one switch, who generates a lot of ping failures, I replaced that switch with an older switch from another manufactor. That older switch shows  no ping errors for days.

Each of the CBS250 Switches has the latest firmware installed.

I am grateful for any help.

Thx, Klaus

thank you for your quick answer,

I deactivated the smartport, but that didn't change anything.

I'm also afraid that I can't permanently deactivate the smartport because the connected knx smart home devices can't be reached with it...

sorry, if my reply is twice in the post, i tried to remove one of them, but ...

as I understand the best practices, smartport should be disabled, if vlans are configured. I work with vlans, but if I disable smartport, the knx device ist not reachable. i´ll try it again, but after the weekend, because it´s in a hotel/restaurant environment.

thanks for your support!

the knx device ist not reachable

Means after configuring is the device lost connection?

I disabled smartport globally, but only the administrative smartport, knx device and cameras lost connections. Now I disable operational smartport and disable auto smartport device detection and try again. I´ll let you know if it works.

You need to port level also.

if I turn off adminstrative and/or operational smartport, the camera loses connection.

what do you mean with port level, e.g. for a connected camera with poe?

Most cases if you disable it should disable each interface level, some time the config will be still available as smart port, so check that also.
