SG300-28P: POE working, AP is powered up, but switchport is down

Hi All,

I am having a strange problem.  I have a POE switch and an AP. They've both been working for a year now.  Recently my switch POE function broke and I had to RMA the switch. In the meantime, I've moved the AP to a different POE switch. The switch powers up the AP via POE, but the port on the switch will not come up. There are other ports on this switch powering other AP's just fine.

Ports 22 & 20 are powering other AP's without a problem.

I have swapped out the network cable, tried a shut/no shut on the port, tried assigning power inline priority critical on the switchport, tried reloading the switch, but no luck.  I am starting to think the AP has broke but that would be a heck of a coincidence that two devices broke at the same time (the switch with the POE function that broke and the AP connected to it).

Has anyone seen this or does anyone have any theories?  Cross-over cable perhaps needed for some reason?

Will the port come up with just a standard client connected?

Yes it will. I have actually tried it with straight and cross cables, on two switches and 1 ASA in the POE port now and the symptoms are the same on all devices; Green light on AP, powered up, link down, no light on POE port.
