SG300 LAG dropping to one host

I have a really odd problem:

I have an SG300 with a few VLANS and hosts plugged into them.

the issue I have is:

I have 2 ports set up as a LAG with a HP NAS attached to it, all other hosts except for 1 can communicate with the NAS

all the hosts, NAS, LAG etc are on the same VLAN (VLAN10)

when i unplug one of the cables on the LAG, the problem host can then communicate with the NAS, as soon as i plug it back in again it stops again. it doesn't matter which calbe i unplug, either will get it working

The same NAS was plugged into a 2960 earlier with a LAG over two ports and that was working fine, so I don't believe the issue is with the NAS

As for the 1 problem host that can't hit the NAS when both cables are connected, this is an SBS VM hosted on ESXI 5.1. the network is set up at the ESXi layer with 2 cables / NICs with the default / round robin way of handling it at the ESXi layer, so nothing configured at the switch.

there are other ESXi hosts with guests that can connect to the NAS fine, but i think they are ESXi 6.0

this seems like a bug to me, but I'm not sure exactly where to look to confirm it, all this was working fine on 2960's

Cheers

Hello Tony Hawker,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue.  Two things I would do is first do a trace route from the problem host and see what route the host takes.  Then again with one of the links to the server disconnected.  After that I would do a packet capture of the VLAN the server is on as you will not be able to mirror 2 ports.  Other option for the capture is running Wireshark (if applicable) on the server to see if it is receiving the traffic.  I have not been able to confirm if Wireshark has updated enough to capture two interfaces so you may have to do one NIC at a time on the server.

Hope this helps,

Michael D.
