Hello All,
I am failing to connect to the console of SG300 and SG500.
So far I've tried using few different cables:
- 9f/9f null modem cable - exactly this one: http://www.delock.com/produkte/G_84169/merkmale.html?setLanguage=en
- Cisco blue cable with RJ45 to RS232 adapter
- RS232 cable with USB adapter
In terms of software and configuration, I've tried:
- putty
- realterm
- every possible baud (9600, 115200, etc.) with default 8/1/none options
I'm running out of ideas. Perhaps I should use a different cable?
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Sounds like you are trying all the right things.
Presumably you have hit the enter/return key a few times once the console is up?
Had this switch worked previously in terms of the console?
Thanks

Yes.. tried that, no success.
I'm trying 3 different switches and 3 different computers, so this must be the cable.
Does anyone know what is the right console cable for sg300 & sg500?
9-pin F / 9-pin F null modem seems to be not working.
Thanks!

Hi there,
did your tried direct connection ,
9f/9f null modem cable > PC with COM port.
some USB converters are not working properly with different electric signals.
also,
try, 9f/9f null modem cable > USB converter > USB port PC
try this with below settings.
Bits per sec : 9600 Data bits : 8 Parity : none Stop bits : 1 Flow control : none

Straight serial cable with gender changer att the computer end worked for me! Strange but true.
