Hi,
I am using PFsense as a router & setup a vlan 50 - i am looking to put 3 WAPS on Vlan 50 - to keep my kids off my work computers network.
I setup the Pfsense Vlan I followed a youtube video. End result is having PFsense give an Ip for Vlan 50 of 172.16.16.1, DHCP server, etc, 100 ip range for DHCP.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2w1Ywt081o
On the SG500 i went to the web gui (I am trying to figure this out with the web interface to continue the Vlan on a SG200)- - I added Vlan 50, then went to Port to Vlan, then went to the filter, chose Vlan 50, then untagged GE5 to Vlan 50. Apply save, etc.
I am using a hardwired cat6 cable for testing but its not giving me an IP.
Followed these instructions: https://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/GetArticle.aspx?docid=67844b99e2da4a7f88db0c588197487d_Creating_VLANs_on_Cisco_Managed_Switches.xml
I then plugged a laptop into port 5 & the PC used DHCP onto my 'regular' 192 network, not the 172 network so something is not correct.
Any ideas what i did wrong?
I am looking to have a second SG200 connected to this one use the same Vlan - so i need to figure trunking also - but thats for after I figure Vlan out on the first SG200.
Thanks, Rich

Hello Richard,
Did you add VLAN 50 to the trunk that leads to pfsense?
for example:
Internet----WAN_PFSense_LAN4(vlan1,vlan50)-----(vlan1,vlan50)gi28_SG500_[port you test, e.g. gi5]
Cheers,
Mike
