Hi Anil, The reason the vlans do not commicate is because vlans are designed not to communicate with each other. In order for a vlan to be able to communicate to a different vlan, it would require a router or a "layer 3" device that understands the vlans.

The SF200 does not have a capability to 'inter vlan communicate' on the switch without other equipment. Therefore you would require a router or "layer 3" device to perform this function.

Thank you Tom

I don’t think I am doing this right.

My scenario is I have one static IP, have Nomadix and PMS which need their own static IP

Than I have VOIP phones, time clock, and PC.

Also need to control the  ingress/egress, so what do I use?

Thank you in advance

Anil, if I read your correctly, your ISP provides 1 static IP address. Then you have 2 devices that need their own static IP address. Those 2 devices, the Nomadix and the PMS, do these need an internet IP address or a LAN IP address?

They both are monitored externally so they needed to get in to their device

If possible I don't want to buy extra static IP

Thanking you

Anil

Hi Anil, it sounds like you're looking for a router.  If you have 1 IP from the service provider but you want 2 monitor the PMS and Nomadix box from an external location, you need a router that will do NAT (network address translation) and then port forwarding so it may map an inbound port to the LAN IP address of those boxes while using the single static IP address.

So which router would work and than use the sf 200 for bandwidth for other devices, or does the router have bandwidth

Thanking you

Anil
