I am confused still about how and what type of SM fiber to be used on these. If one IE3300 switch on site having one 10G slot with SFP-10G-BXU-I - should this SFP now connect on any other switch with what SFP? Is it SFP-10G-BXD-I as must or SFP-10G-BXU-I will be ok or if on a non industrial switch then SFP-10G-LR-S as the range is 10GbaseLR

Looks like there is too many posts in the same context: Please refer to the old thread which has support for both the side :
Cisco SFP-10G-BXD-I and SFP-10G-BXU-I for 10Km (single-fiber bidirectional applications)
The Cisco SFP-10G-BXD-I and SFP-10G-BXU-I SFPs operate on a single strand of standard SMF.
A SFP-10G-BXD-I device is always connected to a SFP-10G-BXU-I device with a single strand of standard SMF with an operating transmission range up to 10 km.

Hello @adeebtaqui ,
on the other side you need the companion complementary SFP
You cannot expect to create a working connection between SFP-10G-BXD-I and a regular SFP+ like SFP-10G-LR-S.
The first one uses a single fiber , the second uses two fibers a fiber pair. They are not compatible for this basic reason.
The companion of SFP-10G-BXD-I should be SFP-10G-BXU-I
