Hello,
Im taking a CCENT/CCNA course going for certif. I bought a 2610 with a WIC1T card from local recycle shop and it only came with the base ios. I'm looking for an IOS that will allow me to create a crypto key so i can set up SSH etc. I've tried to google which IOS file i need to allow me to do so (also to download for free) but haven't found anything that will lead me in the right direction. I dont want anything that i have to pay for because this is for learning purposes and wont ever be used in anything but my home lab that im trying to set up. Any and all help to put me in the right direction is much appreciated.

I certainly understand your perspective that this router will only be used for learning purposes and that you do not want to pay for an IOS upgrade for it. Unfortunately Cisco does not see it this way. Cisco does not provide any free upgrade for study purposes. There have been lots of discussions about how it is sensible and logical and Cisco should provide support for study purposes. But the current reality is that there is no legitimate way to download an IOS for your router for free.
