I'm trying ot install SDM on a 2621XM router. I run the install, it connects to the router, Install Cisco SDM Express is selcted, space required is 2493 and space available is 4445.
The install goes through Enabling RCP on your router, Checking Memory, Memory Chcked, Copying Cisaco SDM Express to your router and then I get "File copy operation failed."
Where do I start troubleshooting this? The router is running c2600-advipservicesk9-mz.124-21a.bin 128 MB of memory and 32 MB of flash.

This souns more like a Java issue. If you are running SDM 2.5 go ahead and install Java 6 update 3. Newer versions of Java like 6 update 13 are displaying this behavior.

Mike, as a suggestion, try installing SDM on the PC or move the SDM files via TFTP to the router's flash. For full SDM, here are the required files:
sdm.tar
common.tar
home.shtml
home.tar
sdmconfig-modelnum.cfg
If SDM express is what you are looking for then replace sdm.tar for the es.tar file.
Hope it helps....

I installed SDM on a computer (actually 2) and I can login, but never get the SDM page. I get "SDM Express for 172.16.0.2 will open in another window. Do not close this window until you
exit SDM Express"
I copied the files via TFTP to the router (used es.tar instead of sdm.tar) and I get the login screen also, but get the same message "SDM Express for 172.16.0.2 will open in another window. Do not close this window until you
exit SDM Express", but I never get the SDM Express. I turned off Pop-Ups, I've used IE 6, IE 7 and Mozilla. No luck with any of them. Any more ideas? Thanks!

SUCCESS!!! Thanks so much! I had Java update 13 installed. Installed Java 6 update 3 and then uninstalled Java 6 update 13 and I was in! Thanks!

FYI - I just updated to Java 6 Update 14 and SDM works!
