2821 bootup error

Hi Guys,

I have a new router that gave me an eror on bootup for the first time

after readonly ROMMON is iniliased

it gives me the error

device does not contain a valid FS

boot: cannot open "flash:"

boot: cannot determine first executable file name on the device "flash:"

c2821 platform configured with main memory configured to 64 bit mode with ECC configured.

i have a similar router with a similar flash and when i interchange the flashes i get the same error on the faulty router yet on the other router i get no faults/errors.

has anyone come across this and is there a solution. I am trying to xmodem to replace the IOS

any suggestions?

Appearently the router does not locate a flash device. Perhaps the on-board flash is not properly seated. As this is a brand new router, you might want to return it.

Otherwise, open the cover, locate the flash module and check that it is properly placed in the connector on the main board.
