2950-01#sh ip int brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
Vlan1 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
Vlan13 10.13.12.25 YES NVRAM up up
Vlan300 172.28.63.252 YES NVRAM administratively down down
Vlan310 172.28.64.252 YES NVRAM administratively down down
FastEthernet0/1 unassigned YES unset down down
FastEthernet0/2 unassigned YES unset down down
FastEthernet0/3 unassigned YES unset up up
FastEthernet0/4 unassigned YES unset down down
FastEthernet0/5 unassigned YES unset up up
FastEthernet0/6 unassigned YES unset down down
FastEthernet0/7 unassigned YES unset down down
FastEthernet0/8 unassigned YES unset down down
The problem with the above configuration is that when i noshut vlan 300, then vlan 13 goes administratively down.At a time only one interface out of the three (Vlan 13, Vlan 300, Vlan 310) remains up and active. No-shutting any interface results in the administratively down of all the other 2 interfces.
My version is
IOS (tm) C2950 Software (C2950-I6Q4L2-M), Version 12.1(22)EA8a, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Hi,
With 2950 you can have only ONE VLAN active with assigned IP address.
2950 is a layer 2 device.
I hope this helps.
Best regards.
Massimiliano.

Hi,
2950 is a layer-2 switch, only one vlan interface can be up at any time....You can't have multiple vlan interfaces in this switch.
