I have an old 2950 switch and all the ports with a cable plugged in are solid green. No activity and some devices are working while others are not. How can I tell if the switch is UP or if I need to replace it? Do I need to reboot it? If so, how?

How can I tell if the switch is UP or if I need to replace it?
Console into the switch from the back. Read THIS.
Do I need to reboot it? If so, how?
Pull the power cord, count to 5 and plug the power cable back in.

thanks for responding Leo. I know I can do it that way but I wanted to log into the switch and check to see if it was still "up"? I just don't recall the commands to do so... I don't want to just "unplug it" because if may affect some users so I want to log in and do some "sho" commands or whatever I need to do before "unplugging" it.
