2960-L Stacking

Hey all,

I'm looking for some information on how I should stack these switches. They don't have stack cables/ports, and the guide says they support virtual stacking. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure how to configure this. Is this speaking about clustering? I see the vstack command, but I don't see any of the vstack commands in the guide after enabling it. See here:

(config)#vstack ?
director Configure director's IP address
<cr>

(config)#do sh vstack config
Capability: Client
Oper Mode: Enabled
Role: Client
Vstack Director IP address: x.x.x.x

System image file is "flash:c2960l-universalk9-mz.152-6.E/c2960l-universalk9-mz.152-6.E.bin"

Model number : WS-C2960L-48PQ-LL

Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Matt

The only way to "stack" this model of switch, "plain" 2960, is to use an archaic method called Switch Clustering.

The "vstack" command you're seeing is for ZeroTouch SmartInstall.
