I am noticing high memory used on my 2960-S I am running 15.0(2)SE. I am concerned that there is a problem with this model and IOS. What can I do to solve this?
also found discussion about 12.2 having similar issues
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2103327
but this was supposed to be fixed in 15.0(2)se

Hi Sam,
Yes, as mentioned by the previous discussion, the issue is matched with known DDTS CSCts52797 which is fixed in
15.0(2)SE
CSCts52797 - Low memory issues on 2960 64Mb with Lanbased.
If you would like to investigate further, please take the below capture these commands with multiple time intervals
#show processes memory sorted
#show memory summary
#show memory allocating-process totals
#show memory dead totals
Regards,
Aru

I've got 2960/G/S using 15.0(2)SE and found no "high CPU" issues.
However, there are some stuffs that I use, like TDR, which the 15.0(2)SE has a nice bug.
Anyone else, if you want an alternative to either 15.0(1)SE (and later sub-versions) and 15.0(2)SE, then consider looking at 12.2(55)SE6. All my 3560/G and 3750/G/E/X are running this version (downgraded from all the 15.0 because of high CPU issues).
