Hi,

I'm new to the 2960 switch stack technology, I need to add an new 2960 switch to the assisting switch stack (3 switches). Can anyone provide the steps needed or direct me to the documentation that include the steps? Below is what I found searching the Internet.

1.  Make sure your new stack member has the same IOS as the rest of the stack;

2.  Power down the new stack member;

3.  Attach at least one stacking cable to the new stack member;

4.  Power on the stack member; and

5.  Connect the 2nd stacking cable.

Verifying Switch Stack Configuration (Basic)

1. Show switch

2. Show switch neighbors

3. Show switch details

4. Show switch stack-ports

Hi,

Here is a link for 3850 series but the steps should be the same for 2960
