Hi,
I have two WS-C2960S-24PS-L switches. One was set up with a configuration that worked for our network, but we now have need of the additional ports in the second.
I installed the FlexStack modules, as per the instructions, and connected the cables, then powered on the second switch. All seems OK, to a level.
I can browse to the web interface and see the drop down menu for the Member 2 switch. I can TELNET onto the master and see all the interfaces for the second switch, and also see the 'show switch details' for both switches.
Here's the annoying part though. I have an Avaya IP phone connected to one ports in the Member switch and I have the VLAN set for it. The phone manages to pick up a DHCP address, but fails to connect tot he TFTP server. This behaviour is also happening for a laptop I connected. It can acquire an IP from DHCP, but fails to do anything else further than that.
What's the likliest configuration I've put onto the Master switch that would be preventing the second switch from doing it's role properly? If you need to see the config, that can be provided on request. Thanks.
Chris

Yeah, several times. Even tried swapping the FlexStack modules around once, which did nothing.
OK, I've got that config applied to port 6 on the master, now connected to Port 6 on the second switch. Phone is connected to an unconfigured port, but is still failing to get a response from DHCP. (Phone has tried connecting on VLAN159 and VLAN0 (any)).
As one of the switches is live, with a server, WAP and WAN link attached, it's hard getting time to restart it. For now though, I'm finished for the day, so will have to pick this up again on Monday. Thanks for your help so far Daniel.

Chris did you get this figured out. I am currently having the same issue that you posted.
I can get an IP from the DHCP server, and I can see the device listed in the DHCP Console on the server.
I can't PING the device and I can't PING from the device.

I didn't, unfortunately. The two units are sat to one side at the moment. I had to replace them with some Catalyst 3750 switches to get the site up and running.
I'll go back to them one day. I think the problem was, I had the config set up before I connected the two devices together. Something must have been incompatible that I had setup that I just wasn't able to pin point. I'm going to flatten both devices to factory resets, connect them via the FlexStack's and then build the config once they're both up and running.

I am currently having this same issue. Anyone get a first?
