Hello -
I am planning on adding a 2960x to an existing 2960s stack and I have read that a requirement to do so is to adjust the stack speed on existing 2690s stack? ie. switch stack port-speed 10
If true, is a stack reboot required after this command is issued for the stack to see the 2960x wen it is added?
Also, do we need to change the SDM preference? Does this require a reboot?
If we dont' change the SDM pref what is the impact?
Thanks,

Hi,
If you really not required and you are thinking that default mac address table and route tables, ACL, are enough for you then no need.
" SDM optimize support for specific features, depending on how the switch is used in the network. You can select a template to provide maximum system usage for some functions; for example, use the default template to balance resources, and use access template to obtain maximum ACL usage. To allocate hardware resources for different usages, the switch SDM templates prioritize system resources to optimize support for certain features."
