Hi,
I have two 2960X (WS-C2960X-48LPS-L) connected via stack (C2960X-STACK) and they doesn't recognise each other. The switches have a stack module and they appear correctly in the sh inventory. I have changed stack cables and stack modules for a new ones without successful results.
Also I have tried to "erase config" on both switches but this doesn't solve the problem. The behind stack port link leds are up when the cable is connected but in the sh sw stack-ports it apperas as down/down in both switches.
I have tried to provision the switches and configure priorities (as I want to have as final result of the stack) before connecting them together with th stack cables but it happens the same.
Finally I have tried to upgrade IOS version to a new one 15.2 but it happens the same.
Here are the switch outputs:
Switch#sh inv

Any help will be appreciated. If you need any extra info or output don't hesitate to comment me :)
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

Power reboot the switch (not the "reload" command).

Thanks Leo,
We have tried to power off the switch also and didn't solve the problem.
Today we have discovered that forcing the ring speed to 10Gb it brings up teh stack. But if we try to put it to 20Gb it fails.
We have tried several cables and stack modules and happens the same.
Maybe is a switch hardware problem?
Kind regards,
Joel

Could be.
Power down both switches. Console into the 2nd switch. Power up both switches. Post the entire bootup process. I want to see everything that's happening to the 2nd switch.

Hi,
Finally we have solved the problem.
I don't know how/why the stack ring was configured to operate at 10Gb on one switch.
We have configured both to operate at 10Gb and it works. Then we disconfigure it on both switches and stack at 20Gb.
The command that I have used was:
* switch stack port-speed 10 (to configure 10gb stack ring)
* no switch stack port-speed 10 (to configure 20gb stack ring)
Hope it helps :)
Kind regards
Joel

I am dealing with the same problem, even if we upgrade to :
Cisco IOS Software, C2960X Software (C2960X-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(5)E, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
The switch dosen´t recocgnize any other switch.
Port remains always Down.
