2960x-T48-L MTU below 1500

I have a problem that I need to set my max MTU size below 1500 to accommodate downstream equipment.  Is there anyway to do it on the 2960X?  It's frustrating that this switch does not support interface MTU sizes but only system.  Even more frustrating that I cannot set it below 1500.

MTU 1500 is standard and it was configured in the system configuration.

 

what is the downstream device ? which you can not set MTU 1500 that side ?
