2970 VTP changed from client to transparent

After changing the VTP mode to from client to transparent, I noticed the output of 'show run' now displays the vlans. Is this the normal behavior? I don't have any spare 2970s to check this with at the moment. Output of 'show run' looks like this now with vlans info, this was not shown before changing the VTP mode.

Hi Ron,

This is normal behavior on switches running in VTP transparent mode. It saves the VTP and VLANs in NVRAM.

Switches in VTP server or client saves its VTP/VLANs in a vlan.dat file.

Actually, a switch in VTP Transparent mode saves the VTP and VLAN state both into vlan.dat and into running-config/startup-config. However, VLANs above 1005 are present only in the running-config. Strange as it sounds but that's the way it is. No big logic here - simply an implementation quirk most probably caused by backward compatibility issues.
