I have gotten hold of a 2nd hand C3545, with the use in mind to replace my 778Wm and adding more function.
But during my first boot, it enters ROMMON upgrade, And fails to boot from it?

Upgrade ROMMON initialized
program load complete, entry point: 0x8000f000, size: 0xcb40
program load complete, entry point: 0x8000f000, size: 0xcb40
loadprog: error - Invalid image for platform
e_machine = 134, cpu_type = 146
boot: cannot load "flash:"
>
but based on my experience with my 877W it should hold "flash:>image on CF card"
but
1. forgot how to set it.
2. When i try "boot: >Filename" i get the error of Corruption.
=============================================================
So i try to upload the new ROMMON: C3800_RM2.srec.124-13r.T15,
With the following settings:
IP_ADDRESS=192.168.2.2
IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.255.0
DEFAULT_GATEWAY=192.168.2.1
TFTP_SERVER=192.168.2.1
TFTP_FILE=C3800_RM2.srec.124-13r.T15
tftpdnld
=============================================================
but when it runs, it times out.
Im using tftp64, but i see a odd request in DHCP side
"Rcvd DHCP Rqst Msg for IP 0.0.0.0, Mac 80:19:34:E8:28:1C [27/02 22:55:08.983]"
While in the the boot-process i see mac address:
"
IP_ADDRESS: 192.168.2.2
IP_SUBNET_MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT_GATEWAY: 192.168.2.1
TFTP_SERVER: 192.168.2.1
TFTP_FILE: C3800_RM2.srec.124-13r.T15
GE_PORT: Ge0/0
TFTP_MEDIA_TYPE: Copper
GE_SPEED_MODE: Auto
Invoke this command for disaster recovery only.
WARNING: all existing data in all partitions on flash: will be lost!
Do you wish to continue? y/n: [n]: y
Mac Address: 001d.e562.bfc0"
I also notice (just now) that there is an NM card installed.
should i take it out?
or can i leave this in?
as it it now 23:27, ill leave this here.
but i can take a look tomorrow, and have Thuersday the whole day to test/try out the suggestions

3800 router have a CF slot in front. Is there a CF in the slot or not? The error message means:
1. No CF is in the slot;
2. CF in the slot is not compatible;
3. CF in the slot doesn't contain any valid IOS files; or
4. CF slot is faulty.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply, But things get a bit hectic.
1. There is an CF installed
2. It is an 1GB Cisco branded CF card, so we could assume it is an compatible card.
3. When given an 'dir' command, Flash displays serveral files, size, extensions.
4. It wouldnt have given the 'dir' command, and/or displaying any contained files.
on topic, I have and issue with the copying of the bootloader, by my guess an issue with the MAC address/ETH ports (as given in the post)
