Hi all,

I changed the baud rate for the console to 115200bps to speed up an IOS transfer through xmodem but cannot reset it back to the default 9600.Tried "set BAUD 9600" & "unset BAUD" seperately under switch: prompt but with no luck.Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello,

try to reload it and to access it via telnet then modify the confreg in order to have again 9600 bps

or try to use confreg at rommon prompt.

It will make some questions and one of them is about console speed

see :

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi Qiusar,

Many thanks fore the feedback but confreg is not supported on 3560.Found the cause.basically the console baud was change to 115200 which was not changed back to defualts.unset BAUD at switch: defaulted the baud to 9600 but as there was a different setting on the startup, output was not readable.

cheers

In our class we have 2 Cisco 3560 serie PoE.
They had diffrent baud rates. 9600 and 57600 for the same purpuse as you, to upload faster IOS.

you must first in rommon typ

set BAUD 9600   (baud must be in capital!!!)

:flash init

:boot

than after boot

line console 0

speed 9600

exit

write

reload

after reload

erase startup config
