I have a Catalyst 3560-X PoE that suddenly stopped working. I plugged in via console and below is the output I received. It scrolls constantly and I am unable to enter ROMMON mode or stop it from scrolling. Has anyone experienced this before or might you know what the problem is? I've read of a possible problem with the IOS version but I'm unable to verify due to not being able to stop the scrolling. Any help would be appreciated.

Try downloading 12.2(55)SE6.
You can use a USB flash drive (not a portable USB-HDD) to boot the IOS from the USB stick.

Thank you for the suggestion leolaohoo. Unfortunately, I am unable to stop the scrolling so I can enter ROMMON mode. Without entering ROMMON mode, I cannot boot from the USB stick. Upon startup, the boot process hangs for about 30 seconds and then immediately jumps into the startup process before settling into the scrolling portion I have posted above. I cannot break or pause the process. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again!

Power off the appliance.
Hold down the Mode button.
Still holding the mode button, power up the appliance.
When you see the prompt, enter the command flash_init.
To boot from USB, use the command boot usbflash0:iOS.bin

Thanks leolaohoo. I was able to get to ROMMON mode by doing what you suggested and I was able to load the new iOS but upon completion of the load, the scrolling restarted. I verified that the new iOS was the version loaded. I believe it to be a possible hardware issue since it doesn't matter which iOS is loaded. This one may be headed for the junk heap. Thanks again for all of you help leolaohoo.

If you have a valid Service Contract, you can contact your vendor and get the appliance RMA-ed.
