hi all,

i have a cisco 3560x poe.

ny currnet version is 12.2(58)SE2.

the cpu process is aboute 30% average.

my problem is- ping to the switch itself show me 12ms which is high latency.

*note- data between two hosts no this has no latency.

i realize the packet go into the cpu itself but, the cpu is not loaded\busy.

so my question is- is this natural behavior?

thanks

jacob

It might be "natural", as Cisco devices often treat "normal" ping requests with low priority.  The fact you don't see such latency between hosts indicates the switch is fulfilling its primary role (last latency switching).

If you're looking for more "accurate" ping times from the Cisco device, if it supports SLA responder, special SLA ping requests can be used from another Cisco device.

Me facing same issue in 3750x with same IOS, I v been informed it might be issue in IOS.
